Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2012

The Susan G. Komen foundation held its annual Race for the Cure last Sunday, November 4. I'm a little late with my coverage due to computer issues. Argh! But back to the race!

We were fortunate to have a beautiful, balmy day typical of San Diego, and coming into Balboa Park, we checked out the "fast people" that chose to run the race. Just so you know, I would never be one of these people!

As we went further into the park, the racers slowed down, enjoying the weather and atmosphere.

Families and kids walking for the cure!

Check out all of the pink!!!!

Volunteer cheerleaders!!!

I was amazing by all of the businesses that donated their time and resources to this great cause.

So many people wanted to take a picture with this hilarious mannequin! I'm kind of afraid of them, so I stayed away, but it is pretty funny. :)

I had a chance to chat with Sandy Rabourne, Marketing Director of the the San Diego branch. She is an 8-year survivor of breast cancer herself, and stated that she is always pleasantly amazed by how much people call her asking how that they can help. Indeed, it is very heartwarming to see how much San Diego comes together to fight against a deadly, saddening disease.

This design is wicked! You most certainly know how to keep a
reader amused. Between your wit and your videos,
I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost...HaHa!) Wonderful job.
I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more
than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
