Rubios Restaurants, made famous for popularizing the fish taco, is celebrating the return of its fan favorite, Langostino Lobster Taco and Burrito, for a limited time only. I'm a fan of seafood tacos, but had never really had them until I moved to the West Coast. I love the fish tacos at Rubio's, so I was excited to try out the lobster.
The lobster selections consist of a Langostino lobster burrito, with guacamole, black beans, and rice, and a two surf and turf plate, featuring a Langostino lobster taco and a steak taco. Since we wanted to try the lobster in all forms, we tried both dishes!
The lobster burrito was huge, like most of Rubio's burritos, and simply packed with pieces of lobster. The lobster was very flavorful with a buttery taste. I would definitely order this again.
The surf and turf platter was amazing. Served with refried beans (I love these so much), the platter was extremely filling. I loved the simplicity of the lobster taco, with onions and avocado. The buttery flavor of the lobster was very present.
The steak taco was quite good, and if you like barbeque sauce, you'll love the flavor! The steak was nice and lean, and served with onion, avocado, and a barbeque sauce! Bacon is optional on this taco, but I declined. I kind of wish that I had went for it now.
